Privacy Policy

The short version

fhew helps small groups of friends take turns hosting each other. We collect only what the app needs to work: your phone number, a little profile info, and what happens in your groups. We never sell your data, and there are no ads.

Who we are

fhew is operated by [Company Name] ("fhew", "we", "us"). You can reach us about anything in this policy at privacy@fhew.app.

What we collect

• Phone number. Used to sign you in with a one-time code. No passwords, no email required.
• Profile info. Your name, age range, and neighborhood, which you give us during onboarding.
• Group activity. The groups you create or join, activity plans, confirmations, and the balance ledger that tracks who owes whom.
• Invites. If a friend invites you by phone number, we store that number so the invite finds you when you sign up.

How we use it

Only to run the service: signing you in, drawing activities, matching invites to your account, showing your groups and balances, and keeping hosting fair over time. We don’t use your data for advertising, and we don’t sell it to anyone.

Where it lives

Your data is stored with Supabase, our database and authentication provider, on hosted infrastructure in the United States. Supabase processes data on our behalf and doesn’t own it.

Who sees what

Members of your groups see your name and the activity and balance history you share with them. Beyond that, we share data only with the service providers that run fhew (like Supabase and our SMS provider) or if the law requires it.

Money

fhew tracks a ledger of shares — the "pot" — but no real money moves through the app. Settling up happens between you and your friends, outside fhew.

Your choices

You can request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account and everything attached to it by emailing privacy@fhew.app. Deleting your account removes your profile and group history, except where we’re required to keep records by law.

Security

We use one-time codes instead of passwords, encrypt connections in transit, and limit access to your data to what the service needs. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable care with yours.

Age

fhew is for adults. You must be 18 or older to use it, and we don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update the effective date above and, for anything significant, give you a heads-up in the app.
